SOUTHERN AIR R/C CLUB CONSTITUTION

 1.         ORGANIZATION:

             A.        The Southern Air RC Club (SARCC) shall be a non-profit organization.

             B.         SARCC shall be chartered with the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) and conform to the policies and Safety Code of that organization.

             C.        SARCC shall comply with all Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations, as they pertain to remote control model operation.

             D.        The club shall be organized and administered under the direction of elected officers:  President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Safety Officer and Field Marshall.

             E.         Individual Members shall not incur any financial gain from club transactions.   Any excess monies shall be deposited in the club treasury.

 2.         PURPOSE:

             A.        The purpose of this club is to promote the building and flying of remote control model aircraft and to promote fellowship among the membership and other similar clubs.

 3.         CHARTER: 

            A.        This club shall maintain a charter through the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) to ensure adequate field/field owner insurance protection.

 4.         MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS:

             A.        Members shall be of good moral character.

            B.         Members will maintain a current AMA membership card to ensure adequate individual liability insurance protection.

             C.        Prospective members shall attend at least one (1) club meeting prior to being voted in and spend a total of eight (8) hours as the field with other members present.  A majority written vote of the membership-at-large constitutes acceptance.

             D.        To involuntarily revoke an individual's membership, for anything other than excessively delinquent dues, a statement must be submitted to the President and an approval by at least two (2) of the elected officials is required.

             E.         To be considered a member in good standing, the member must be no more than three (3) months behind in dues. Over three (3) months behind will result in loss of voting and flying privileges.  A member over three (3) months behind will be notified in writing that he/she is delinquent and be given one (1) additional month to pay all dues.  If full payment is not made by the due date, the member will automatically be removed from the club roster.  Also, their name will be posted at the club field as a former member to ensure that they no longer use the field.  In order for a former member to regain their membership, they must request new membership, pay all past overdue fees and be voted in.

                         Club members are encouraged to pay club dues in advance to prevent the possibility of becoming delinquent.

             F.         NONVOTING ASSOCIATE MEMBERS:  Anyone who wishes to be associated with this club in a non-flying status may be enrolled as a NON-VOTING Associate Member by paying regular dues, renewable each year.  AMA membership is not required.  All other privileges of the club apply.

 5.         AMENDMENTS TO THE CONSTITUION

             A.        All proposed amendments shall be presented to any club officer for presentation and discussion at the next scheduled meeting.  A favorable vote of a QUORUM is required for its adoption.
